Who we are

  1. I am a British born mostly-retired medical research scientist (68 years) who lives in Berkeley, California. I also have a part-time position as Professor in the Medical School at the University of Birmingham in the UK, so I go to England frequently. I also have an older home overlooking the beach in Swanage, Dorset. Another in the mountains of Southern Arizona. Listed on VRBO.com property number 253877, as rental but could be home-exchange.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

The street is historic and cobbled, right in the heart of ancient Alghero. Its about 200ft from Cathedral tower. You cannot park on the street and if you take your own car or rent one you must park in a "free" parking area 10 min walk. I always rent a car so have to do this all the time. There are multiple fine restaurants 2-10 min walk away, several on beautiful city sea-wall. This is a wonderful place to be in the evening watching the sun go down over the bay. The indoor market for fresh produce meats and fish is about 10 minutes walk and multiple bread and other stores are close by. To get to the first sandy beach is a 20min walk along the sea-front.
