Our home

This is solely a holiday home. It's a simple villa situated in a small condo on the main road between Agropoli and the ancient temples of Paestum. The rooms are tiled and easy to maintain. It's got air conditioning in the largest bedroom and car parking outside. There are at least three supermarkets and a small shopping mall about five minutes walk from the house. Theres also a 'Caseficio' if you are interested in sampling the local produce.

Who we are

  1. I was a professional photographer for more than forty years and started visiting Italy in the mid 80s. I bought the house 14 years ago and have used it as a base for my travels around Italy ever since. it's a perfect space to relax and make plans for the next excursion.

The town land of Mattine is famous for it's production of 'Mozzarella Cheese' so you will find a mixture of farmers and tourists in the local shops and bars. With railway stations in Agropoli and Paestum, it's easy to get to Naples or Pompeii in about an hour and a half...... and Rome in three/four hours. it's the perfect jumping off point if you are interested in travelling. The beaches of Paestum and Agropoli are about a ten minute drive from home.

Agropoli's Centro Storico is a perfect place to spend some down time...wander the narrow streets and visit the Church and newly restored Castle.
San Marco the local beach, is sandy and popular with Italian families and crowded during high season. But, other beaches provide great places to snorkel and dive. The local tourist office has a plentiful supply of brochures detailing the times and dates of concerts at the Castle,Festivals,Horse Riding,Trekking,Sailing and during the Summer, ferry trips to Salerno, Capri etc.

With its wonderful Temples and fine Museum surrounded by resturants and bars is another day out. Do your research beforehand and you'll be rewarded for your efforts.
