Our home

Our house is situated in a "Moshav" which is an agricultural community. The house has 140 square meters, is set on one floor and is surrounded by a large well treed garden, which is visually available through its many French windows.

Our home is basically designed for the two of us. It is aesthetically warm, open spaced, clean, and inviting. We have a large living room with a wood burning fire place (incl. all the wood you need), a large bedroom with a queen size bed, a study, which incl. a computer, cable TV and an additional bed. The house has two bathrooms, a kitchen, a very comfortable dining room, and three terraces.

Our large garden consists predominantly of lawn and many trees. Some are fruit bearing like: lime, lemon, grapefruit, mandarin, orange, macadamia, pecans and avocado. There is also a small garden house, which is used by both of us in the form of an office and a therapy clinic.
Leaving the garden through the back gate, one enters the agricultural fields, where one can easily walk for hours along small roads, peel an orange, taste some bio-grown strawberries and listen to the quiet.

Who we are

  1. My husband and I are in our early sixties. We have grown children and grand children who are living in Canada and Italy. We decided to buy a farm in Israel more than twenty years ago after having lived much of our lives in Europe and Canada. My husband, who also grew up in Israel, is running our farm, which produces greens, as a by product for the flower industry in Europe. I am a psychotherapist, working in a hospital and seeing patients at home.

We are a quiet couple. One takes care of the business the bank and the bills ...the house and garden and the other listens and talks, reads and philosophises, paints, knits another blanket, fiddles in the garden, and makes pretty good food. Both of us are enjoying the in and out doors.

However, both of us are longing to spend some time in Canada again, a holiday which feels like home. Were a trip to the local market bares memories from long ago and were the sound of certain radio programs seem to have remained unchanged; a kind of at home stay, not possible when visiting the kids or while staying in a bed and breakfast accommodation.

Your neighbourhood

As mentioned above, we live in a Moshav, which is an agricultural village, where most of the villagers grow vegetables, fruit, or flowers, while others work outside this community in other professions.
Several large beaches are within easy driving distance: Netanya, Shwaiim and Herzelia. During the winter months they invite long walks on white sand under beautiful blue skies, leaving the swimming in the somewhat cooler waters of the Mediterranean to the more determent and action oriented holidayers. One may choose the experience of walking along stretches of isolated terrain, or be with others along promenades and cafe's watching the water skiers being carried into the air by huge open air balloons or observe the sky divers as they remain afloat along the cliffs of the coastline.

Other kinds of outings include those to Tel-Aviv, a 30-50 min. driv. to the south. Here one can choose from the unlimited array of the arts. Seeing a performance of contemporary dance, or listening to the world's most profound musicians, is bound to impart a memorable experience. And then there is the culinary extravaganza offered in the cities many very fine restaurants.
However, Israel's most significant treasures besides its significantly vibrant people are imbedded in its historical and archaeological past.
Our village is located close to a main inland road near Netanya, situated between Tel-Aviv and Haifa, which allows easy access to seeing the whole country.
