Our home

We have a comfortable home on its own grounds in a sunny location . The newly renovated kitchen opens on to a sun lounge which in turn, opens on to a patio and very private back garden. It can be very pleasant to sit here and enjoy the peaceful surrounds. We usually spend daylight hours in these areas and retire to the cozy sittingroom when darkness falls.
There is one bedroom downstairs, while the others and the bathroom are on the second floor.

Who we are

  1. We are John and Deirdre a couple in our early 60s . Deirdre is a retired PE teacher and John is director of coaching at the GAA, our national games of football and hurling. We love sport and the outdoors, reading, travel , good food and visiting the pub to meet our friends.
We have two adult daughters. One lives in Wellington, New Zealand with her partner Dylan and year old son Caedan. The other, Crionna lives in Dublin with her husband, Ciarán. We all hope to spend Christmas 2016 together in New Zealand, preferably in the Able Tasman/Nelson region.... So, who would like to experience a West of Ireland Christmas?

It may also be possible to include Crionna and Ciarán's house in Dublin in the exchange.

John and Deirdre may also consider swapping house in Europe in May, June or September.

Your neighbourhood

We live on a quiet street with friendly neighbours in a small rural town. All amenities....supermarkets, church, banks, pubs, park and leisure centre are a few minutes walk from our house.
Tuam is 200 miles west of Dublin, 21 miles north of Galway, and is a great base from which to explore Connemara and the West of Ireland.
