Our home

Our home is a large detached Dormer Bungalow, it has 5 bedrooms, of which 2 have on-suites, a comfortable living room, a large newly renovated kitchen/utility with fantastic views of the vast green countryside and far off Mayo Mountains. The house is ideally situated with the rear facing south and so facing the sun from sunrise to sunset. This makes it a pleasure to sit out on the glass panelled patio area enjoying breakfast/lunch/dinner/drinks/Bar-b-que while taking in the wonderful view of the countryside.
We have a large garden both front and back, great for kicking ball and 2 sheds for storing bikes and ride-on lawnmower.

Who we are

  1. Hi, we are the Danahers, my name is Theresa and my husbands name is Joe, we have 4 children, three boys and a girl ranging in age from 16 to 7.
Joe works as a Project Manager in a local company, and I work part-time as a Makeup Artist and full time Mother!
This will be our second time using HomeForExchange, it was a great success and are excited about exploring more new locations in countries that we like.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our house is situated 2 miles from the large town of Tuam and 30 kilometres from Galway City, this is a vibrant young artistic city in the west coast of Ireland. There are lots of restaurants, bars with traditional irish music, art museums, of course great shopping.
Not far from that is Connemara, again with breathtaking views.
Approx. 40 miles north is Wesport, this is a large town, voted as ideal place to live in Ireland in 2014, it has fantastic views of the mountains, hiking tours, fishing and great restaurants and quaint bars with great tasting Guinness!
There are so many places I could mention and all within an hours drive!
We are delighted to be able to offer our house as a base to discovering Ireland
