Our home

It was built in 1970 and we took ownership of it in 2016. We carried out substantial renovations at the time making the house more comfortable and making use of the generous garden. We are within easy walking distance of shops, pubs restaurants and walks along the coastline and to the big beach!

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Tramore ( Irish: Trá Mhór, meaning "big strand/beach") is a small seaside town (pop 10,000) in County Waterford on the southeast coast of Ireland. It has a 5km beach which is popular for sunbathing in summer, surfing in winter and walking all year round. We live close to the town center (2 minute walk) and 10 minutes walk from the beach. A beautiful coastal walks overlooking the bay commences about 100 meters from our house.

Best restaurants
There are a number of bars and restaurants within walking distance, our favorites restaurants being The Pier and Brooklyn. In Waterford City we loke a restaurant called Momo, they source a lot of their food locally. We frequent Crokes bar (good for music on a Thursday night) and The Ritz which is just down the street.
Nightlife
There are plenty local music venues with a variety of local and visiting musicians. Waterford has nightclubs, theatres etc.
Favourite cafés
Moes and T Bay down on the promenade.
Where to go shopping
There are 3 Supermarkets within 300m, a local bakery and Pharmacies. There is a bus stop within 100m where you can get a bus into Waterford City.
Your area's cultural and historical landmarks
Waterford City has lots to explore especially in its area called The Viking Triangle, with a Medieval Museum, Bishops Palace, Waterford Crystal, Theater Royal and more. Waterford also hosts numerous art festivals including, Spraoi street festival, Imagine arts festival and Waterford Walls. It also has a vibrant music and theater scene.
Local walks
The beach! Coastal Walf out to Newtown Cove and The Guillamene, The Doneraile Walk and local beaches such as Garrarus and Kilfarrassy.
Places you love to exercise
Waterford Greenway is a cycle track from Waterford City to a smaller coastal town Dungarvan. Dungarvan has a reputation for good food/dining. The Comeragh mountains are a 30 minute drive away and is good for walking.
Top day trips
Take the car ferry over to Wexford and explore Tintern Abbey and Hook head. A 30 minute drive will take you to Kilkenny which has loads of heritage and crafts. Woodstock estate near Inistoige is a beautiful setting for walks, 30 minute drive.
