“We had a wonderful and successful exchange with Sheila and Mel and their cute children in July/August 2012. We enjoyed their spacious home to the utmost. Especially their large kitchen was a great pleasure for us – we love cooking a lot! Being on the road with two teenage boys was no problem at all, as Sheila and Mel offer a variety of movies to choose from and to watch in their cozy TV room. Another advantage was being so close to the beach. The boys enjoyed using Mel’s kajak! Walking and jogging in the fresh air every morning was fantastic for Paul and me. We also made friends their animals: The rooster and the hens gave big pleasure and it was wonderful to eat fresh eggs in the morning. Right from the beginning we were absolutely fond of the quirky gerbils. Playing with them was really funny. The landscape in Gorey is lovely and green and subtle. People are exceedingly friendly – all was just perfect. Sheila and Mel are very reliable and generous persons and easy to talk to. Upon our return we found our home perfectly clean and well looked after. If you are looking for an exchange with someone friendly in a lovely house and in a quiet spot – then this is where to go. Thank you Sheila and Mel, for letting us have the opportunity to come to Ireland and to feel home away from home!”

Where is it?
We live in a beauty spot. You can hear and see the sea -- a long sandy beach is just a few minutes stroll away down a private lane. The sun rises over the sea and sets on Tara Hill, behind the house. We live half-a-mile down a lane with two other houses close by. The nearest shop&pub is 0.5 miles away. Gorey, a thriving market town with many shops, restaurants and pubs is 5 miles away and close by are many amenities including award-winning restaurants, one of the finest spas in Europe, several golf courses, horse riding etc. Sailing, surfing, swimming (indoor or in the sea) and seafishing are possible in Courtown, 5 miles way. We would provide you with a car if required -- it's essential to get around the area.
