Our home

Our home is a nice bright 3 bedroom, 3 Bath house, in a well maintained area, a 2 minute walk from the sheltered Dorrins Strand Bay and a 10 minute walk from Strandhill Beach and the Atlantic Ocean.
We have 2 double bedrooms and 1 single bedroom, all with either sea or mountain views. We also have a loft with a single bed which would be suitable for 1 person (making an additional 4th bedroom if needed).

Downstairs we have a hallway, bathroom, a comfy, large, bright sitting room, and a medium sized kitchen come dining.

We have a spacious sun room at the rear, and a nice back garden with a decking area outside the back door, with views over Sligo Bay.

The front of our house looks at Knocknarae mountain (burial place of Queen Maeve, first High Queen of Ireland).

Who we are

  1. I am David, 35 years old, a family doctor (GP), and love sports, music, and the outdoors.
Suzanne is 33, works as a Beauty Therapist, and is in University studying for a French degree.
We both like good food and a nice relaxed holiday atmosphere.
We are both well traveled, including North and South America, Australia, Africa, Asia, Europe, UK and of course Ireland.

We have two children - Lily is 3 years old, and Bláithín is 1 year old.

We are looking for an exchange in France for Summer 2016, 2-4 weeks.

We had an amazing exchange in Byron Bay (Australia) in 2013, and we will be very respectful of your home.

    Regards,

    David

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Strandhill is a seaside village located outside Sligo town. It has eating, drinking, surfing, golfing, climbing, swimming, walking, fishing and every other outdoor pursuit you can think of.
Our house is a 10-15 minute walk (or very short drive) to the main beach (lots of car parking). As Strandhill is a kind of peninsula, there are also 2 beautiful bays nearby, one of which is less than 5 minutes walk (Dorrins strand)and the other is less than 5 minutes drive (Culleenamore). The best swimming spot in Sligo is at the bottom of the road beside our house!
Sligo has lots to do, and if you are looking for unspoiled beaches, and Ireland the way it should be, ie. music, food, fun and a real sense of history, then its the place for you.
We live beside Megalithic Tombs, and our house looks out on Knocknarae, which you can climb / walk up, to see the burial place of Queen Maeve.
Check Sligo / Strandhill out on Google, and you will see what is on offer. From the Ox mountains and inland lakes, to the north coast and Benbulben area, you will be spoiled for choice.
Sligo was home to WB Yeats, and the area is very much alive with the arts.
We are also in a perfect location to explore counties Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon and Galway.
