Our home

Our home has four bedrooms, a large living room, spacious kitchen-dining area and sun-room over-looking the garden. One of our bed-rooms is used as a study and has internet access. We have a good-sized garden, not over-looked, backing onto woodland and open playing fields. Our home is a family home, child friendly and good for socialising. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking with a big range-cooker. We have a solid-fuel stove in the living room and central heating through-out.

  1. We are a family of five. We have three daughters, age 9, 7 and 1. I lecture at an art college in Dublin and my husband is a self-employed carpenter. We love the place we live becasue it is great for families. Our road has lots of young families and is a very safe place for our children to play. In summer and winter we spend lots of time on the beach but also can avail of all the city has to offer in the form of cinema, theatre and galleries. We love reading and our children love arts and crafts, there are plenty of books and art materials in our house. I like cooking and generally have a well stocked larder. We have fresh herbs growing in the garden.

Our house is located ten minutes walk from Portmarnock beach, a five mile sandy beach on Dublin's north-side. Portmarnock village is a suburb of Dublin city and has a pub, hotel and local shops and a large super-market. Amenities within walking distance include a beach, a swimming pool, two play-grounds, golf and pitch and putt. Within a ten minute drive are the villages of Malahide and Howth with lovely restaurants, golf, coastal walks, castles, farmer's markets and much more. The local Dart (train) service is within a fifteen minute walk and serves all of Dublin city. We are twenty minutes from the city centre. We are also located five minute drive from the M50, the main motorway accessing all routes to the rest of Ireland.
