Our home

Our house is a modern two story house in a village 30 minutes from Dublin. It is on the main artery to the south and west of Ireland so would be good for touring the country.

Property features

Who we are

  1. We are a retired couple in our early sixties with family living in each of the above destinations. We own a camper van and tend to be away from Ireland during April, May, and June, and our house would be available then. We would like then to travel to any of the chosen destinations particularly Massachussetts in September and Melbourne Australia in December/ January.

  2. Gerry is a retired managing director of an International company and an engineer by profession. I am a retired Nurse and Health Service Administrator.

  3. We love walking, cycling and general outdoor activities.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We live in a small and historic heritage village. There is a shop and gastropub within walking distance in the village. Within ten minutes drive you reach Naas town which has at least eight good restaurants and many great pubs many of which also serve food. Dublin is only thirty minutes away and holds some of the greatest museums, theatres and historical sites. Belfast and Cork are each within a two hour drive and the connecting motorway system is excellent. Our village is in County Kildare which is home to the famous Curragh and Punchestown horse racing tracks and is equally renowned for its spectacular golf courses e.g. The K Club where the Ryder Cup took place some years ago. The National Horse Stud and a Japanese Gardens are nearby.
Also nearby in Co Wicklow lies one of the largest and most beautiful national parks in Europe which is great for hillwalking and hiking.
The famous Cliffs of Moher in Co Clare, the Titanic Centre in Belfast and the Guinness Storehouse in a Dublin are all worth a visit and are within easy proximity of Kildare. Equally there are many castles (Dublin, Kilkenny, Ashford and Bunratty Castles) and country houses (Russborough House, Adare Manor, Castletown House, Farmleigh House) etc. along with numerous whiskey distilleries to visit. The Wild Atlantic Way one of the most scenic coastal drives in Ireland and County Kerry (an international dark sky reserve, one of only three gold tier reserves on the planet, and the only one in the Northern Hemisphere) are high on the list of areas to see and within a couple of hours drive.
The Boyne valley and Newgrange in Co Meath house some of the oldest megalithic tombs in the world (older than the pyramids)
Excellent salmon and trout fishing are to be found in the west of Ireland.
