Who we are

  1. We are Margaret and John, a married couple with one teenager and one smaller child. We all enjoy travelling when able to get away.

We have already completed a swap with a Dutch family. We found this to be a great way to see another country from a slightly different perspective. We look forward to doing many more swaps in various locations and have other people enjoy our home and surrounding area.

We would be happy to provide you with more information on the house, the area and also to help get you set up with information on what you can see/do in the area should you choose to come visit Wicklow, without being far from Dublin! Looking forward to hearing from you..

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our family home is located in a very smart development, constructed in 2004, in the commuter town of Newtownmountkennedy (that village with the really really really long name ? the longest in Ireland in fact).

The village (5 minutes away) has the following ameneties; 2 public houses (food served), hotel (both bar food served and a restaurant), 3 newsagents, butchers, supermarket, chemist, florist, post office, 2 churches, numerous takeaway food outlets (Chinese, Indian, Pizza, Chip shop...) woodland walk, petrol station, etc..

Newtownmountkennedy is close to Kilcoole (with its bird-watchers paradise) and the Glen of the Downs Nature Reserve.

Also nearby are attractions such as Powerscourt house and Gardens (one of the world's great gardens, which stretches out over 47 acres), Mount Usher gardens, Glendlough (main attractions are the stunning scenery of this glacial valley and the monastic site of St Kevin which rests here),

There is a great local road network, which means that you are close to Dubln city and with the local town of Greystones providing great restaurants and coffe shops in addition to the beach, playground, DART (train service which will bring you to Dublin (and connects to the national rail network)

Newtownmountkennedy is perfectly positioned, with the mountains and the sea accessible within minutes, and and is a quiet village which moves at a relaxed pace.

We think you'll like it!
