Our home

Our house is 2 mins walk from a small village close to both Kilcullen and Newbridge in Co Kildare. It is spacious, comfortable & very child friendly bungalow. We have a well maintained but low maintenance medium sized garden with a trampoline for kids to enjoy. The Patio is very quiet but gets sun throughout the day & is perfect for summer outdoor eating - we can set up the barbeque for you. It is a 20 year old house with a large open plan kitchen/dining(set for 8) & living room area. There is a Study/kids den with TV and a large sitting room that has a warm stove. There are two spacious bedrooms, one with en-suite & 2 smaller sized bedrooms also. The main bathroom has been only recently renovated to incorporate a state of art wet room area. We also have a utility room which houses the washing machine and dryer along with an extended clothes drying area. We have recently refurbished our main bahroom, our en-suite Bathroom, main bedroom & our sons bedroom also & have just finished ex-tending our kitchen/living room very recently to have a more open plan living room/kitchen area with sunroom extension.

Property features

Who we are

  1. We are a family of 5. I work as as an Artist & my husband works as a manager for a large multinational company. We have 3 children; an 18 year old son & 2 lovely daughters aged 15 & 13. All 3 children are seasoned houseswappers and are extremely careful to respect the homes we travel to over the past 10 years we have house swapped. We all enjoy music, worldwide travel, sporting activities, meeting people, cultural outings, nature, outdoors & eating out. My husband & I both love cooking so mealtimes are very important to us also & so the large open plan kitchen / living area is the centre of our home. We have family in the area so if you have any problems they should be at hand to help out if need be along with also having very friendly neighbours. We have already completed 9 successful house swaps to date & are now eager to look ahead to a swap for 2019 & beyond. We will treat your home with the utmost respect & care during our swap.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our house is set beside the Curragh plains in a quite cul de sac of a mature residential estate with large green park area directly out front where football etc can be played and a path that leads to the River Liffey where fishing is permitted in season. It is a friendly neighbourhood, 2 mins walk from the local shop and local public house, 10 minutes walk to the curragh plains and 5 mins by car to the local small town of Kilcullen or the larger town of Newbridge with plenty of shopping, restaurants, swimming, leisure & many other facilities are at hand. Newbridge also has a national rail station that goes directly to Dublin. There is also excellent bus links to Dublin from Newbridge. Close by also are motorway networks to South, West and north and we are within 40 mins of Dublin city centre, Dublin airport, the Wicklow mountains, and blue star beaches on east coast of Ireland. (see www.kildare.ie for more local info).

Our closest small town, Kilcullen is great for all the family to enjoy along with Michelin guide restaurants and also plenty of lovely cafes there are also plenty of scenic & easy walks to take, with a highlight walk being the Camphill community Farm and nature walk along the river Liffey. There is a playground for children beside the the local sports centre which caters for many sports e.g. Pitch and Putt, Kayaking , Soccer, Hurling, Gaelic Football, Tennis, Badminton and boxing and there is also horse riding, horse racing, Dog racing, hiking, fishing, areas for cycling & jogging, walking, running and golf also nearby.
