Who we are

  1. We are Hugh and Marguerite with 3 grown up children. One son aged 22 years returned from a semester in USA college and is completing a Masters. Our second son aged 18 years is in 2nd year college and daughter aged 17 is in secondary school. Hugh is a Health Care Manager and I am a retired Clinical Dietitian Manager, both in our 50's. We wish to exchange homes in order to spread our wings and see more of the world! Our neighbours have exchanged homes over the years and highly recommend it. We would love to complete a simultaneous exchange for our home. We could also arrange a non simultaneous exchange for our mobile home which is located literally on the beach in Ballyconneely/Clifden. Mobile living is an unforgettable "back to nature" experience but with modern conveniences. Walking, hiking, cycling, kayaking, rock pooling, pier jumping, swimming, horse riding and golf are the usual activities we do at the mobile home. Generally we are a very active family - playing basketball, golf, biking, fishing, kayaking etc. I also love oil painting, baking and reading. The house caters for young with cable TV, xbox, DVD, boxing bag, basketball and local playground. The more aged like ourselves can enjoy relaxation or more active pursuits like cycling, golf, hillwalking, horse riding or as desired, the house and locality caters for most activities.

Our home is located in close proximity to 7 other houses. All the neighbours are extremely welcoming as some have completed home exchanges. You may use our car and bikes. We also have a holiday home (mobile home 12 ft x 38 ft) on the beach at Clifden, which is absolutely a wonderful holiday experience. Local supermarkets, pubs, shops, hairdressers, beauty salons and restaurants, including a highly recognised restaurant entitled 'White Gables' are a 5 min walk from the house. The area caters for young and old with local activities and amenities to suit. Bus transport to Galway city is a 5 min walk. The village of Moycullen is known as the gateway to 'Connemara'area and Connemara National Park. A pet farm is located a 5 minute drive away, a great experience for children. Also close by are 2 beautiful golf clubs,'Galway'and'Oughterard'. Long sandy beaches on the Atlantic Ocean and a pier on Lough Corrib are located a 15 minute drive away and perfect for swimming. I also would leave information on exploring other areas such as Westport town, Killary Harbour,Adelphi Lodge, Kylemore Abbey and other castles like Ballynahinch, Abbeyglen in Connemara, and Ashford Castle in Cong. Galway Arts Festival and Galway Racing Festival take place in July and are visited by many tourists. The bridge in the film 'The Quiet Man' is nearby.
