Our home

Perfect location in the North East of Ireland in Co. Donegal. We offer a two bedroom cosy seaside apartment on a raised evelated site over looking the Foyle flowing into the Altantic Ocean. The apartment is approximately 65sq metres in size with two double bedrooms, a modern bathroom and a lovely open plan kitchen/dining and livingroom area with fantastic views. The apartment is not suitable for wheelchair users as it is located over a detached garage to the side of our home.
Peace and Privacy is yours to have as much as you wish with the option to drop into us if we are there for a cuppa, a chat , a glass of wine and plenty of information and help if you require it.

The apartment has a 4 ring gas hob, an electric oven and grill, a microwave, fridge, toaster and washing machine. There is a large two seater sofa, 2x armchairs, table and chairs for 4 persons, TV and internet. It is clean and fresh with a nautical atmosphere and decor throughout. Outside concrete stairs leading up to the traditional front door with its upper opening half door. Truely the place to relax and unwind.

Who we are

  1. We are Hugh and Miriam, married 34yrs and in our 50's. We have two adult children , one son and one daughter and one daughter in law. We moved to live in Moville, Co. Donegal, Ireland two years ago, as we are semi retired and wanted to enjoy this beautiful area which we had visited many times down through the years and always loved.
We are both Irish, Hugh is from Derry ~Londonderry City and I am from a small little town in County Laois. We are both semi retired, previously involved in Design. (Furniture and Interior Design) We have enjoy traveling all our lives and more so now that our children have left the nest and we have a few bob left to call our own, since they finished University. We enjoy Home Exchanging and consider it a great way to see other countries and to meet wonderful people. We can provide plenty of information on places to go and sights to see for all our home exchangers. Our home can be available as a non/or simultaneous exchange. Optional Car exchange is available as a car is necessary to see the area.
We hope to travel in Europe in 2018 and further afield in 2019 onwards. We have completed 25 home exchanges to date, we traveled around the world for 12 months in 2012/13 completing 21 back to back home and car exchanges during the whole year, so you may be assured that should you wish to exchange with us, we are extremely mindful of keeping your home secure and spotlessly clean and tidy during our stay, as we are sure our exchange partners will do likewise with our apartment.

Moville is located on the north east coast of Inishowen, Co. Donegal and positioned on the "Wild Atlantic Way". A lovely homely friendly town with shops, great restaurants and pubs to suit all tastes, also available are banks, postoffice, chemists, churches, library, hairdressers, adventure centre, craft and pottery outlet, and the most amazing 4km long shorewalk along the waterfront between Moville and Greencastle fishing village.

Our apartment is located along the walkway, giving you spectular views all the way to Scotland on a lovely clear day. We are located opposite Bienvenagh Mountain in Northern Ireland, with ever changing colour schemes -a photographers paradise! We over look the many little beach coves along the shore which is a great attraction for walkers, swimmers, sailers, photographer, families and their pets and those just seeking a relaxed place to be.

It is a great location in Ireland, as many wonderful places and sights can be travelled to in a short space of time, such as Malin head ( the most northly point of Ireland), Doagh Famine village, a great place to visit, Dunree Fort and Military Museum ( you can see for miles around with 360 degrees viewing), Mamore Gap, (not to be missed) outside Clonmany - but not for the faint hearted driver!!, Swan Park Buncrana ( lovely for a picinic) and closer to home Culdaff and Five finger strand.
In no time you can also drop into Derry~Londonderry City ( 18miles ) for a wonderful day of sight seeing in this beautiful City of Culture. For those of you interested in history, this is the place to be. Guided tours of the city walls and great shopping and evening entertainment. Further afield to your East, or by short car ferry crossing, you can travel to the "Giants Causeway", Bushmills Brewery, the rope bridge and travel along the coastal route of Northern Ireland. Or travel west into County Donegal along the "Wild Atlantic Way" or venture inland to have a wonderful day out in Glenveagh National Park, gardens and Castle or Glencolmcill Folk Village.
There is so much to see and do, you will surely want to come back and see more.!!
