Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We invite you to spend some time in the charming West of Ireland. Here you can enjoy quality tranquil surrounding with beautiful attractions and urban buzz literally a stones throw away. Our home is conveniently located a four minute drive from the historic coastal village of Oranmore which has many restaurants, cafes, shops, and playgrounds and a large public park located on the edge of Galway Bay. Close also, is the village of Clarenbridge famous for its oyster festival as well as some equally lovely shops and tea rooms.

“The romantic city of Galway has claimed many
a traveler's heart, and it isn’t difficult to understand why…

…this is a walkable city that successfully melds old world grace
and contemporary panache ”
Lonely planet Guide to Ireland (2006)

Ten minutes drive West of Oranmore is the vibrant city of the tribes. Galway in summertime comes alive with non stop festivals and celebrations including arts, horse racing and film to mention but a few. Perhaps not surprising, it is replete with some wonderful restaurants, bars and cafes, catering for all tastes, budgets, and occasions.
The seaside resort of Salthill located on the edge of the city lends itself perfectly to some summer lounging, swimming, or simply ice cream eating! The more adventurous types can get their adrenaline running in the holiday rides at Leisureland activity Centre overlooking the famous Galway seaside promenade.

Our home is ideally located for touring more of the county or further a field. Galway city is the gateway to Connemara and its breath taking landscape is the subject of much art and literature. A particularly special trip is to set sail off the coast of Galway to the rugged Aran Islands, a short boat ride but centuries removed and where you can enjoy listening to Gaeilge – the native Irish tongue. You may pick up a few words along the way whatever happens you will be sure to enjoy the universal language of music played in a traditional Irish way.

If you feel like touring further from Galway you won’t be disappointed. We have particularly good access for touring county Clare also (including the tourist hot spots of Burren, Bunratty and Cliffs of Moher). The ease of access to other cities and tourist attractions goes on and on but it is worth noting that Dublin - our capital city is only 2 hours drive away.
