Our home

We love our home and enjoy spending time in it. It is spacious, bright and very comfortable and we have it tastefully decorated with added touches from our extensive trips and time living abroad. We have a sunny open-plan kitchen, dining room and adjoining sun room (with wood burning stove) where we spend most of our time. We also have a utility and guest w/c; another TV room and a study. Our main lounge is large with an open fire. The 1st floor has a large master bedroom with en-suite and dressing room; 3 double bedrooms (with double beds) one with ensuite and a large main bathroom. The 2nd floor has a w/c, office and storage. Outside we have 8-acres of stud fenced fields and trees in an idilic, peaceful setting; BBQ and garden furniture. We also have a double garage and 4 stables (no horses!).

Property features

Who we are

  1. Patrick is an accountant and has recently retired from UN Diplomatic life and now loves spending time at home when not in the gym. Pauline is a business graduate and currently works in a supervisory role in Training. Our son is 17, loves school, rugby, music, his friends, his two golden retrievers (Andy & Fly), his X-Box and the computer and he makes a great cheesecake! We have had a very interesting life so far and have lived in many varied and interesting countries but want to continue travelling. We have never done a home exchange before but have heard from others that it is a great way to see the world.

Your neighbourhood

We live in a very peaceful rural area and only 20 mins from Limerick city, the home of Munster rugby. We are ideally situated for exploring either the West or South of Ireland. Located only 40 mins from Shannon Airport and Dromoland Castle and 30 mins from Bunratty Castle. Only 1.5 hrs drive away you have Galway to the West, Kerry to the South-West and Cork to the South. The beautiful beaches of Clare and Kerry are only 1 hrs drive e.g. Lahinch for great surfing and the famous Cliffs of Moher, the Burren, Kilkee, Spanish Point and Doonbeg and Ballybunion (in Kerry) with a great beach and links golf course. For the golfers, there are 6 great golf courses within a 30 min. drive from our home and two championship links courses within an hours drive. Only 20 minutes from us is the quaint village of Adare and Adare Manor. Killaloe on Lough Derg (lake) is also only 20 mins away where we have cruising, windsurfing, sailing, waterskiing and wakeborading. Limerick University Campus is 10 mins away offering an olympic swimming pool and excellent gym facilities (open to the public).
