Our home

Our house is 3 years old and is built with comfort in mind. It bright and spacious and has underfloor heating. The living space comprises of an open plan Kitchen (with all modern conveniences), dining and living room. There is also a separate study-playroom downstairs, a utility off the kitchen with a downstairs WC and shower.
Upstairs we have the main family bathroom, three spacious bedrooms with double beds, one of which has an ensuite. We have a large timber deck area off the dining room with teak table and chairs. We also have a large lawn to the front and rear of the property.

As we have two young children our house is very suitable to families. A cot is also available for babies along with plenty of toys and swings in the garden. We are currently doing work in the front garden of the house and laying a lawn.

Who we are

  1. My husband Colm and I are both in our 30's and we have two young children, aged 6 years and 21 months. We live near the coast in Ireland and we tend to seek holiday destinations that are near the sea. We enjoy a quiet pace of life on holidays such as walking in the countryside, exploring towns and cities, museums and galleries and good food.
This will be our first foreign exchange but we have exchanged homes with a family in Dublin on a number of occasions. We are a very house proud family and keep things very tidy. Our children understand that they must respect other peoples belongings and are generally very well behaved. We will treat you house as if our own, with care and respect and hope that you will do the same.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our home is on a country road, 1.5km from the centre of Kinvara, a small fishing village, renowned for traditional Irish music. We are ideally located at the foot of the Burren, a Karst landscape famous with walkers for its wild flora and rugged landscape (http://www.burrenbeo.com). There is a small beach located 7km from the house and Fanore beach (beautiful long golden sand) is 25 minutes by car along the scenic Blackhead route. Galway City. otherwise known as City of the Tribes is 30 minutes by car or you can take a bus from Kinvara village.

On the other side o Galway City is Connemara, which claims to be one of the last wild and unspoilt landscape of Ireland (http://www.connemara.ie/en/). Attractions apart from the beautiful scenery include Kylemore Abbey, Killary Harbour, the National Park and of course the Gaeltacht areasm where the Irish language is still spoken.
