Our home

Welcome to out home-from-home on the beautiful ring of Kerry. Our home is nestled in a little village in rural Ireland on the south west Kerry coastline, actually on the scenic ring of Kerry. It is in a very small development of only 10 houses. Our house is a 3-bedroom house sleeping 5 in a single room, twin room and the king-sized master bedroom.

The village has a shop, pub and a post office as well as a lovely little café specialising is fresh home-made cakes!

Who we are

  1. We are a family of 6. My husband and I both work in the pharmaceutical and medical devices industries. We have 3 boys, 9, 8 and 9 months and a little girl who's 5. They absolutely love spending time in Kerry but most notably, enjoy the beaches, surfing and body-boarding!

My husband and I loved to travel before the children came along and we would really like to give our kids the same experience of seeing new places, meeting new people and enjoying different cultures.

  2. My husband is an acountant and I am a program manager.

It has to be said, that when we use our house, our primary purpose is to unwind, breath the most beauticule pure clean air and visit the many, many beaches dotted around the south west Kerry coastline, all on the wonderful ring of Kerry. When we're not beaching, we love walking - the beaches, the dunes, hill walks, coastal walks - this area has it all.

Located right on the ring of Kerry, we are within walking distance to a number of scenic beaches. White Strand is a 10 minute walk while there is also a very secluded beach down the little lane, almost opposite our house. because this is hidden, it is like a little gem, so quiet and private. Alternatively, the gorgeous blue flag Derrynane beach is about 8 minutes by car. You will also pass a number of beaches on route.

As I mentioned, the area is also a walkers paradise, with too many to count, Kerry Way walking routes. Pack a little picnic and a flask of tea and strike off to enjoy the scenary from on high! We brought our little 3 year old hill-walking for the first time last summer and we all absolutely loved it.

The area enjoys an abundance of locally produced fresh food also, from fish and meat to vegetables. This is served throughout the many local pubs and restaurants or can be easily bought for a BBQ on the beach or in the back garden! The options are endless.

We enjoy Kerry in all seasons and in truth, we believe it is at it's most beautiful in the autumn and the winter when the colours of the landscape come into their own.

The world is your oyster in terms of golfing options if this interests you. The world famous Waterville Golf Links course is only 20 minutes away and the Parknasilla Parkland and coastal golf course is the opposite direction in Sneem, also 20 minutes away. Other courses of note in the area include Kenmare Golf Course, The Ring of Kerry Golf Course, Dooks Golf Course, Killarney Golf and Fishing Club and many, many more!

Other activities locally include horse riding and pony trekking as well as visiting many of the local sites and visitor attractions.
