Our home

Our home is located in an area of natural beauty and conservation, overlooking Ireland's largest lake and with an amenity forest within walking distance. Our house was lovingly built by us using a range of salvaged architectural materials. It has gabled ceilings and exposed beams throughout, stained-glass windows, and marble, stone and wood floors. It is warm and comfortable with under-floor heating complemented by two stoves and an open fireplace. The site is stunning, overlooking the lake, on five acres of land which includes a pond, organic vegetable gardens and a stone circle. There are five bedrooms, two baths, two showers, and three WCs. The kitchen/living room is large and light-filled. The lounge/conservatory contains a stone fireplace and wood-burning stove. The master bedroom is stunning with beamed ceilings, an open fireplace and stand-alone bath.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

The house is set in a quiet, rural area of natural beauty. We are 5 minutes from the lake and the University of Limerick Activity Centre where there are courses available on water sports and outdoor pursuits. In the local touristic fishing town of Killaloe there are wonderful shops and restaurants, a library, tennis courts, swimming pool, and supermarkets. Limerick city is 30 minutes drive, Galway city is 1 hour and Dublin is 2 hours drive away. We are 1 hour from the west coast and its wonderful beaches.
