Our home

Comfortable semi-detached home located on a cul-de-sac and in a quiet estate next to the grounds of Kilkenny Castle.

Timber floors throughout on the ground floor with French doors leading out to a private garden which is not overlooked from the rear.

Would suit a couple with small children because of the proximity of the Castle with a playground and duck pond and also the river which runs close by.

We do have a TV and PS3 but no cable so be warned!

Who we are

  1. We are Keith and Martina, a married couple with 2 children of 12 and 15. Keith works as an internet consultant and Martina as a personal fashion advisor.

We have never exchanged our house before so we are looking forward to this and to treating our host's home with respect.

We spent Summer 2011 on an exchange in Stockholm and we swapped with a famiy in Paris for our 2012 exchange. So we are now looking for a summer 2013 swap :-)

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We live in Kilkenny, a town of about 20,000 people with a lovely town centre which is dominated by Kilkenny Castle.

The town has many medieval features as well as a lot of really good restaurants and small shops. Both the town and surrounding areas host many festivals during the summer months. Check out http://www.kilkennytourism.ie/ for full details.

The one to look out for if you are into visual art, music and theatre then from 9th to 18th August Kilkenny Arts Festival takes place - http://www.kilkennyarts.ie/ for more.

To sample city life there is a very regular train service which allows you to get to and from Dublin in just over 1.5 hours. For more general visitor information check out http://www.kilkennytourism.ie/
