Our home

Our home was constructed in 1998. It is located on a one and a half acre site and is surrounded by mature trees, with a preserved copse of beech trees to the left of the house. The house, situated on a raised site, overlooks a large forested land estate. There is a freshwater stream meandering through our garden and the sound of this at night is both peaceful and enchanting. Our home has a predominence of timber floors and there is also a timber deck to the side of the house. There are four bedrooms (master en-suite) our house can comfortably sleep 6-7 (one bedroom with king size bed, one with double bed, two rooms with single beds one of which is a highsleeper suitable for children over 6 years old, single futon in this room also), a living room, dining room, kitchen , fully equipped utility, office (double sofa-bed, pc and email) and two other bathrooms. The kitchen is a large old country style kitchen with island, pine dresser, larder and large double oven.
In the garden there are football goals, swings, trampoline, slides etc and there are plenty of toys in the house. We have a lady to help clean the house and she can come before you leave if you wish.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We live in a village called Inistioge which is situated in a beautiful, picturesque valley in County Kilkenny. The village of Inistioge is renowned for it's beauty, having been the centrepiece of several films (for example Maeve Binchy's "Circle of Friends"). The locality offers superb outdoor activities, with easy access to canoeing, golf, horseriding, cycling and hiking all within a 15 minute radius. Mount Juliet the renowned 17, 000 acre land estate and golf course is found 5 miles away, while excellent horse racing can be found in Gowran, Wexford, Tramore and Clonmel, all within 1 hours drive away. The area has exceptional restaurants and indeed is very centrally located, within a half hour of the port city of Waterford and the Medieval city of Kilkenny. We are also within two hours of Dublin and Cork. The local train service (5 miles from the house) brings you straight into Dublin city, avoiding the need to drive and find parking which is always difficult in Dublin. For children there are a number of playgrounds, pet farms, horse riding centres, swimming pools, cinemas etc all within easy access.

Those who have exchanged with us in the past have loved the area, in fact some have said they could see themselves living here.
