Our home

Our home is on a 0.4 hectare (1 acre) site on the side of Kenmare Bay just four miles from the very attractive, gourmet and tidy town of Kenmare. Our house is thirty years old and is set back from the road in a lovely large mature garden complete with stream running through it. It is centrally heated, has double-glazed windows, walls and attic insulation. The spacious (400sq ft/37 sq mts) sitting room with large picture windows has a wood burning stove, piano, library, T.V/DVD collection and commands stunning views of the bay and the Kerry mountains all year round. So you should be snug as a bug in a rug and have a great view at the same time. The very large kitchen/dining room is well equipped (electric oven/gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer) and is very bright. There is an adjoining utility/laundry room complete with washing machine and dryer. The master bedroom (also with large picture window views) is en-suite and has a queen size bed, while another bedroom has king-size double and the third has two single beds. This is our much loved and cared for home and we really enjoy living here and welcoming family and friends to share it with us.If you have access to Google Earth we are located at 51 degrees 50 minutes 35.75 N and 9 degrees 39 minutes 26.20 W. However the area is not yet properly mapped on Google Earth.

Who we are

  1. While we are in our sixties we are both still very active and enjoying working and travel a lot both for work and pleasure. We came to Kenmare 11 years ago to get married and to honeymoon and, totally unplanned, we are still here! That's what the magic of Kerry and Kenmare do to you. Between us we have five grown children and six grand children. Our children live in Dublin, Devon, Paris and Hong Kong. We enjoy music and reading as well as the outdoor life, walking and golf and travel. This years travel has included France (Cagne Sur Mer twice/Burgundy wine tour/ Vessoul), Libya three times and Namibia twice. We are rugby supporters and regularly attend Thomond Park (Munster), RDS (Leinster) and Croke Park (Ireland). Pat and Mary

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Kerry is a paradise for golfers (Killarney, Ballybunion, Waterville, Tralee as well as Kenmare), walkers (Kerry Way and Beara Way), fishermen, and for anyone who enjoys the great outdoors and beautiful scenery. Kenmare is on the Ring of Kerry and is a heritage and hospitality town. It is home to award-winning restaurants, gastro-pubs and cafés. Kerry is well known for its gorgeous scenery and dramatic coastline - windswept cliffs, spectacular lakes and unspoilt beaches. Very close to our house here is a marina where small boats and canoes can be hired. We are an hour and a half drive from Cork Airport and two and a half hours from Shannon. Kenmare is one of the ten best places in the world to retire to (Fortune Magazine).
