Our home

We have a clean, comfortable house. There's a garden to the front and a courtyard to the back. Inside, we have a good sized living room and a large dining room which leads into the kitchen. We also have a downstairs bathroom with a shower and a utility room with washing machine and dryer. Upstairs there's a family bathroom and four bedrooms. One of the bedroom has bunk beds. In all, there are beds for six people but we also have a few inflatable mattresses so if your party is larger than six, there is space for them. Our car is a Volvo V40. We also have five bikes.

Property features

Who we are

  1. We are a family of five. Two adults (writer and journalist) and three children, aged 17, 13 and 10. We have never done a house swap before but we're keen to try it out and make it work! We're looking for somewhere warm and sunny but are open to exciting offers anywhere.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Greystones is lovely little coastal town on the Dublin/Wicklow border and it really is the ideal location for a holiday base. On our doorstep we have a blue flag beach, great places for walking, a thriving local town with cafes, restaurants, boutiques, supermarkets and many other shops. There are also cycle paths in the town, a park and a leisure centre with pool and gym. The local train station runs a half hourly service which brings you into central Dublin in 50 minutes. Here, you can sample the delights of the capital city. Restaurants, pubs, art galleries, theatres, museums, walking tours, sightseeing tours and so on. Dublin also has a cheap bicycle rental scheme which is a great way to explore the city. You can read about it at this website - http://www.dublinbikes.ie/
There are many other lovely little towns along the train line. Dalkey, Killiney and Dun Laoghaire are just a few of them.
Away from city life there's also a quieter life. A car drive away you can go mountain biking, hill walking, visit stately homes, go on nature walks, explore the Viking town of Wexford.
If you want a holiday that combines city life with quieter activities, Greystones really is the perfect location.
