Our home

Our home was built on the family farm approximately seven years ago. It is a bright and spacious detached home located in rural county Galway. There is a large garden with a playground and lots of outdoor toys; our kid's favourites are the go-karts! We also have a bouncy castle and trampoline that provide hours of entertainment for the kids on a summers day. Access to our home is via a private boreen (narrow roadway). We are surrounded by lush green fields where cattle graze in the summer months. Our nearest neighbour is approximately 5 minute walk away and they are very friendly.

Our house in approximately 250 square metres. We have a large sun room with flat screen tv, adjacent to which is a large kitchen/dining room area. There is a utility room with washing machine, dryer and fridge freezer. There are five bedrooms in total, one located downstairs and four upstairs; the largest of which has an en suite. There are three bathrooms and a separate playroom with lots of toys for boys and girls. We also have a sitting room with TV, stereo and a solid fuel stove for relaxing in the evening.

Your neighbourhood

We are located in a small village approximately 3 kms from Gort. We have a small school, church and a little museum. The beautiful forest park of Coole is only 1 kilometre away; this was the ancestral home of Lady Gregory a central figure in the Irish literary revival.

Gort is a large market town which has a number of supermarkets, restaurants and pubs. It is an excellent location for day trips throughout counties Galway and Clare. It is a 10 minute drive to the Burren and the seaside village of Kinvara is also only 10 mins away. The Cliffs of Moher, Lisdoonvarna and the Aliwee Caves are all less then an hour away. We are 2kms from the M18 motorway that links Galway with Limerick/ Cork/ Kerry etc.

It is a half hour drive to Galway city which has a vibrant night life and numerous festivals throughout the year. Salthill, with its beautiful promenade, is a short walk from Galway city. Further west from Galway city lies Connemara and the heart of the Irish Gaeltheacht (native Irish speaking area). It is possible to day trips to the Connemara national park, Westport in County Mayo, the Aran islands and Innisboffin.
