Our home

Our chalet is a much loved holiday home. It is set in a gated community, which was built in 1970, of about forty chalets, all widely spaced apart. The living/dining area is open plan surrounded by windows giving a view of the sea and countryside. The large deck, with a view of Tara Hill, encourages BBQ's and alfresco dining while admiring the sunset. It is also a sun trap. We have four comfortable bedrooms, two doubles, one with bunk beds, and one with two single beds. There is an electric shower, and a jacuzzi bath. We also have an outdoor hot tub in a secluded spot at the back of the house. In the large basement we have a washing machine and dryer, and lots of buckets and spades! For those invigorating morning swims, the beach is five min walk away, and a three minute jog back to the hot tub!

Who we are

  1. We are a couple in our early 50's with two grown up children. Our 20 yr old daughter will travel with us, and probably my parents, very fit for seventy somethings! My husband is a management consultant and I am a Guidance Counsellor in a school. This is our first time entering into a house swap, and we promise to take very good care of your home.

Your neighbourhood

There is a small shop and pub serving good food beside the entrance to the Tara Cove chalets - a 15 minute stroll from our house. Gorey is the nearest town and is an 8 min drive away. There are lovely restaurants, bars and great shops there. Three large supermarkets are conveniently located on the outskirts of the town.
The area is a haven for golfers. Seafield Golf and Country Club is right next door, and our own club Courtown (75yrs old parkland course) is a five min drive away. There are many more beautiful courses around. There is a lovely spa in Seafield hotel also. If you fancy a day trip to Dublin, it is only one hour away on a very good road, as is the historic town of Wexford - in the opposite direction. Our house is also ideally situated for those who want to come by ferry, as the port of Rosslare is also one hours drive away.
