Our home

Our house is a home to three sons and a daughter ranging between ten years and eighteen years. It has recently been refurbished and is modern, spacious and bright. Originally a five bedroom house, it has been reduced to four bedrooms with a spacious Master Bedroom. The other three bedrooms are Double Bedrooms.There is a large kitchen/Dining room which has all the modern conveniences. The Utility attached is large and houses a separate laundry room and W.C. The house has a spacious and comfortable Lounge. There is also a large Family Room which doubles as a Play Room. The back garden is private. The 'Scullery' houses BBQ, Garden/Dining Furniture, Freezer and ample storage space. Our home is friendly and inviting.

Who we are

  1. My husband and I are both professionals and enjoy the company of our four childen/teenagers. As a family we enjoy traveling and look forward to spending some time on vacation together this summer. Our experience of Home Exchange in the past has been very positive. We would like to arrange an exchange soon so that communication/relationship building can begin with an exchange family in a way that can support all needs. We envisage this happening initially through email.

The house is ideally situated in a quiet aesthetically appealing cul de sac of detached houses in the high end of Galway. It is a short walk to the local promenade which provides all the usual summer seaside fun e.g. beach, amusements, swimming pool, Marine museum, playgrounds etc. The house is a short drive from Galway city (2 mls) which provides hours of pleasure during the summer season. There are many local festivals and street theatre thrives during the summer season. There are a number of theatres close by which offer a diverse range of theatrical/musical interactive experiences. Also close by are cinemas, shopping centres and there are many restaurants to choose from to suit all budget requirements. The house is ideally located in that it provides a gateway to Connemara, the Aran Islands (boat trip) and to the Burren in Co. Clare (Car journey). It is a short drive to the railway station which provides a regular train service to Dublin, Capital city of Ireland! (Two hour journey). Or a 2 hour drive on the Motorway.
