Our home

This is our first time offering our luxurious home for exchange and we are very excited at the prospect. We would appreciate if only thoses with similar quality homes would apply to us. This 19th Century Country House was run as a 5 star guest house and restaurant until 2008, when we decided to convert it to a private residence. The living area is just off the kitchen and we love cooking so most of our time is spent in this area. We have a beautiful Baby Grand piano for any music enthusiasts and the bar lounge has a cute antique pool table. Large garden with helipad and fountain at the front of the house and outdoor seating. Also an enclosed walled garden, a perfect sun trap with a beautiful red bricked Barbeque.

Property features

Who we are

  1. Hello, we are an adventurous and energetic married couple and we love travelling. We have never done a house exchange before and are really looking forward to it. I am a primary school teacher and my husband is involved in hotel consultancy and property development. We really enjoy golfing holidays so a property in close proximity to some nice courses would be ideal.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We are fortunate to be situated on the west coast of Ireland, in County Clare. Our home is just a 5 minute walk to the beach. There are also 2 lovely hotels within walking distance and the nearest town is Miltown Malbay, 25 minute walk or 3 minute drive. The spectacular Cliffs of Moher (short listed for inclusion in the Wonders of the World) are just a 20 minute drive away and just beyond these, you have the Ailwee Caves and the Burren, a beautifully scenic area with Floral and Fauna native only to this part of the world. For golfing enthusiasts, we have a lovely 9hole links course in Spanish Point, the award winning Doonbeg Golf Club and world renowned Lahinch Golf Club, both withing a 15 minute drive. There are numerous outdoor activities to engage in, in this part of Ireland such as hiking, fishing, swimming, diving, surfing, golfing and boat trips to the beautiful aran Islands.
