Our home

Our home is a very attractive double fronted Victorian house which we renovated and re-modelled in 2007/2008. It is two storey with a modern open plan kitchen/dining room and separate TV/garden room off. There is a sitting room off the hall. It has a utility area and guest toilet at the lower hall level. There are three double bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms on the first floor. To the rear there is a small hard landscaped garden and patio area which gets lots of sunshine in summer. This is accessed via large triple glazed sliding doors from the kitchen and TV/garden room. It is a lovely bright house and very easy and comfortable to live in.

Who we are

  1. We are an architect couple, Tony and Geraldine O'Daly - with three grown-up daughters - two of whom are architects also. Our eldest daughter is currently studying for a Masters degree at Yale and will be graduating next May which is why we wish to visit the USA. We would love to stay in New York for at least three weeks and have time to get to know it at our ease. We like reading, music and sailing - my husband, Tony is a keen sailor and I am a fair weather one!

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Garville Road is a quiet road of mostly Victorian houses on the South side of the city within a ten minute walk from Rathgar village which has shops, restaurants, pubs etc. and about 2 miles from the city centre. There is closer specialist shopping within 3-4 minutes walk. Walking to St.Stephen's Green takes approximately 30 - 40 minutes. There is a very good bus service 2 minutes away. This area of Dublin is situated about half an hours drive from the Dublin/Wicklow mountains and half an hours drive from the sea at Sandymount or a little further to Killiney/Dalkey - a very attractive coastal area.
