Our home

Our home is located in South county Dublin. It is warm bright and very comfortable. The downstairs has a large modern kitchen with gas stove and electric cooker. It is equipped with absolutely everything including a widescreen TV and a saltwater Aquarian! There is a utility room attached to the kitchen also a very nice WC with power shower. The living room is spacious and beautifully decorated. The perfect place to relax by the fire in the evening. We have a wide screen TV, (cable TV) large selection of books and tons of CD'S. We also have a second living space that is equipped with an IMAC computer, another wide screen TV. Art materials, Guitar etc. The back garden catches the sun in the afternoon and we have a BBQ that we use when the weather is good. The front garden gets the sun in the morning and can be very nice to enjoy your first coffee.
Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms and a renovated bathroom with new shower. The master bedroom is very comfortable, excellent mattress, plenty of space for clothes and an open fire. The second bedroom has a double bed, also plenty of space and is lovely and bright. The third bedroom is small but lovely with a great mattress, small desk and good closet. The entire house has great lighting with dimmers and lamps. Central heating and an alarm.

Who we are

  1. We are a family of three. My daughter is 18yrs old and plans to begin her studies in Marine biology in Galway in September. My son is 14yrs old and halfway through high school. I have been in the retail business now for many years. We use to live in Miami but returned back to Ireland early 2000. We have two dogs whom we adore but can arrange to go to a kennel if that suits better. We love to travel and usually go to Spain and France. We normally travel with two or three friends. We have not done an exchange before but having looked through this site think it might work well for us.We just want a good comfortable base so that we can enjoy the city and the beach. I would be happy to help with any questions you may have about travelling around Ireland or anything else that may be useful.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our home is THE perfect place to stay if you are planning a visit to Ireland. We are 10 mins from Dublin city centre (grafton st). This historically famous city has a treasure of interesting sights, National art galleries, World renown theatre, beautiful parks and a vibrant bustling atmosphere. Most of all the people are friendly and welcoming almost anywhere you go. We live almost across the road from UCD the world recognized university, so we have an excellent bus and train service (DART). We are also 15 minutes from Dun Laoghaire the beautiful south Dublin seaside town. This town has a wonderful pier where people like to take their daily stroll. There are also lovely shops and restaurants all around to enjoy afterwards. If you have kids or teenagers we have the main Dublin shopping mall 10 minutes from our home. Dundrum Shopping centre is the place they all want to go to (Cinemas, high street shops and fast food restaurants, all there and much more). We are also 30 minutes from Bray where there are numerous horse riding Schools and treks and amazing walks.

If you plan on travelling around the country this is also the perfect base as we are 10 minutes from the M50 which is the main highway that links with the rest of the country. We are about 2 1/2 hours drive from Galway or 2hrs drive to Limerick. 2 hours to Belfast.
Sandymount beach is our local beach, where I walk our dogs everyday. 5 minutes by car from our house. So really we have the perfect spot for any type of vacation.
