Our home

Our house is a detached 4 bedroom house with a large basement. Upon entrance to a large hallway on the right is a formal dining room. On the left is a relaxing sitting room with period fireplace. Continuing on to a large bright kitchen with central island and large kitchen table. There is a Study situated off the kitchen with library and period fireplace (gas fired). Also off the Kitchen is a large family room with 40" Sony TV with Chromecast/WDTV/Netflix/Vudu and large open fireplace. There is a side passage that leads down to the basement where washing/drying facilities as well as a 50" TV with Xbox One/Playstation 4. Back to the entrance hall there is a small W.C. under the stairs. Upstairs leads to 4 bedrooms and the main bathroom. The master bedroom has an en-suite with shower. Bedroom 2 has two mid-sleepers, bedroom 3 has two single beds and bedroom 4 is used as an office at present.

Who we are

  1. We are David and Rachel. We have four children from 11 to 17. We have not done a home exchange before and are very excited about the prospect. We are looking to revisit Massachusetts where we lived for 10 years and our eldest was born. David runs a software consultancy business. We are lucky to live in a great area and we are looking forward to sharing it.

Our house is located on Albert Road with close proximity to Glenageary DART station (Dublin city 25 mins). The location is ideal for easy family living and is within minutes walk of Glasthule village with artisan produce, boutique wine stores and coffee shops. Fish lovers will want to visit Cavistons food emporium and seafood restaurant, one of Ireland's best known. The famous "forty foot" mentioned in James Joyce's Ulysees, Coliemore Harbour, Joyce's Tower, the East Pier and the Yacht Clubs of Dun Laoghaire are all within easy walking distance. The wild and beautiful Wicklow mountains are only 15 minutes drive for those who wish to escape busy city life.
