Our home

Our house is a typical period home with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms a large open plan kitchen/dining room/play area (for the kids) and a lovely cozy sitting room for the evening with plenty of reading material and T.V etc. We have a small garden with a lovely wooden playhouse and toys for kids.

The children's bedroom is perfect for 2 children but we can add an extra cot or camp bed if needed. We also have a spare bedroom/office suitable for 1 person. The master bedroom has a super comfy king size bed with lots of storage. We have a brand new and very comfortable single sofa bed downstairs.

The neighborhood is very quiet, safe and friendly. You'll be sure to sleep very well here.

Who we are

  1. Glasnevin is a wonderfully historic and beautiful leafy area of Dublin city. Its a perfect place to base your stay in Dublin. Just 15 minutes drive from the airport and a 25 minute walk into the city centre. There are also bus routes just beside the house. We are also a 10 minute walk away from a train station which connect to national lines.

    Our neighbourhood is stunning. Just 2 minutes walk away is The national Botanic Gardens, Griffith Park, the historic Glasnevin Cemetry and a quick drive to many beaches. We have plenty of lovely cafes, bars and restaurants surrounding us.

    Our house is a typical period home with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms a large open plan kitchen/dining room/play area (for the kids) and a lovely cosy sitting room for the evening with plenty of books, music and and T.V etc. We have a small but lovely back garden that is a sun trap, we have a wooden play house for kids and herbs that you can pick for cooking, its perfect for a BBQ of for letting the kids have a play.

    The children's bedroom is perfect for 2 children aged between 1 and 8. We have a cot and a small bed. We also have a spare bedroom suitable for 1 person. The master bedroom has a super comfy king size bed with lots of storage. The neighbourhood is very quiet, safe and friendly. You'll be sure to sleep very well here.

  2. Lionel is a school principal and Leanne is a photographer. We have two little girls, Holly (5) and Penny (2).

  3. We love all the good things! Travel, fine food, Art, Music, days on the beach and wandering in new cities.

Glasnevin is a wonderfully historic and beautiful leafy suburb of Dublin city. It's a perfect place to base your stay in Dublin. Just 15 minutes drive from the airport and a 25-minute walk into the city center. There are also bus routes just beside the house. We are also a 10-minute walk away from a train station which connects to national lines. We are close to motorway links meaning that you can be in Galway or Belfast in 2 hours, cork in 2.45 hours. There are so many attractions and activities in the bordering counties of Wicklow, Kildare, and Meath.

Our neighborhood is stunning. Just 2 minutes walk away is The National Botanic Gardens, Griffith Park, the historic Glasnevin Cemetry and a quick drive to many beaches. We have plenty of lovely cafes, bars and restaurants surrounding us. My sister lives on our street and will be happy to help you out if need anything. We know all of our neighbors, they are lovely and very helpful, they will make you feel very welcome.

Best restaurants
The Washer Woman is a great restaurant very close by. There are lots of lovely places to eat in Glasnevin and Drumcondra all within walking distance.
Nightlife
Lots of great tradition pubs in walking distance. The Grave Diggers pub is very famous and just 10 min walk away.
Favourite cafés
Mc Mahons Cafe is our nearest Cafe and it is wonderful and has a great atmosphere.
Where to go shopping
There are bakeries, pharmacy's, supermarkets, banks etc all within 10/15 min walk from our house. You can get to the larger supermarkets by car in 10 mins. You can walk to the city centre in 25 mins or take the bus.
Your area's cultural and historical landmarks
The Botanic Garden, Glasnevin Cemetery, Pheonix park, Dublin Zoo, Newgrange Neolithic Tombs, The city centre is full of great museums and Galleries.
Local walks
Pheonix Park, The Botanic Garden, there are many beaches that can be reached by car in around 15/20 minutes. There are many walk ways in the surrounding Dublin Mountains.
