Our home

Our house is a modern and comfortable centrally-heated holiday home located on the scenic Dingle peninsula. It has three bedrooms - two double (one en-suite) and one with three single beds. There is a large kitchen/dining room with views to Brandon mountain and a comfortable sitting room with stove fire, TV, stereo, and views of the sea (1 mile away) and the famous Blasket Islands - worth a trip on a fine day. There is also a main bathroom (electric shower) and entrance hall and sliding double-glazed doors to the outside from the kitchen/dining room.

On the outside there is a large well-maintained garden on all sides with a patio area to the rear, garden furniture, charcoal bbq and stunning views. Ladies and gents bicycle available.

Who we are

  1. Máire and I (married, two grown up children) have been visiting this area of West Kerry for nearly 50 years and so 15 years ago we took the plunge and we built our own holiday home here. Needless to say we love the area! When here we will usually be found strolling one of the many beautiful walking routes, particularly our first port of call, Muirioch beach, or cycling, swimming, sipping coffee in one of the cafes, dining out, or just relaxing in one of our sheltered spots in our garden - or even relaxing indoors, it has been known to rain (known locally as 'a soft day). Well actually we normally just put on our rainwear and go out anyway.

Another favourite of ours is the Imeall an Domhain walk, starting at our gate, linking with the path along the cliff edge, passing Tigh TP (truth is we usually don't pass it) and return by country road to our house. Assuming you do stop at Tigh TP it is mandatory to send a picture to your friends who are not on holidays with the caption 'just sitting outside TPs having a .... Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Ideally located for the many walks, scenery, and amenities in West Kerry. There is a beautiful mile-long beach (Muiroch Beach) ideal for walking within 1 mile and 'Imeall an Domhain' (Edge of the World) circuit begins at our gate! Brandon mountain is a moderate walk from Baile Breac, which is a 10 minute car journey from our house. There are many restaurants and cafés on the Slea Head loop and a wide selection of beautiful beaches, many suitable for swimming and sports activities. There are lots of pubs in the area and well known tourist town Dingle is a 7 mile drive away with a wide selection of amenities, shops, restaurants, and pubs - some with live traditional Irish music at night.

A well stocked shop is a five minute walk from the house and next to the local church. Two good night-time restaurants, Gormans and An Seana Ché (The Old Pier) are a further ½ mile away. The nearest pub Tigh TP is a 7 minute drive/30 minute walk away and serves bar food - outside on a fine day looking out on some magnificent scenery.

Dún an Óir 18 hole golf course is a 15 minute drive. And don't forget to take a guided kayak trip around Dingle harbour and commune with Fungi the Dingle dolphin.
