Our home

Our house is ideally located for exploring Cork and the surrounding tourist areas of West Cork and Kerry. The house itself consists of four bedrooms upstairs (two larger bedrooms with double beds and two smaller bedrooms with single beds) and a sizeable toilet including bath. Downstairs there are spacious living areas - a room off the hall which is currently used as a playroom for the kids (this room also has a couch which can turn into a spare bed), a large living room for relaxing and large kitchen/dining area. There is also a utility room off the kitchen which holds the washing machine, clothes dryer and full length freezer. In the kitchen there is a dish washer, microwave and full length fridge. We have recently had the back garden renovated which takes advantage of the south facing aspect of the house. The garden is ideal in the summer time for having barbeques and sipping wine in the evening.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our house is situated in the upmarket Rochestown area of Cork. It is only a 5 minute walk into the popular Douglas village. Douglas contains everything you could possibly need in terms of supermarkets, banks, coffee shops, restaurants, cinema, farmers market, convenience stores etc. There are various buses close to the house that you can take into the city centre (15 mins on a city bus). It costs approx. 10-15 euro to take a taxi into the city. The centre of Cork has many attractions including the English market, Fitzgeralds Park, many bars and restaurants, the shopping area of Patricks Street etc. The real attraction to where we live is the ability to explore the likes of West Cork and Kerry on day trips or for short overnight stays. Believe me there are so many fantastic places to visit and we can make so many recommendations (Clonakilty, Castletownbere, Bantry, Killarney, Dingle). If you enjoy the outdoor lifestyle and enjoy amazing scenery and mountains then you should definitely come and visit.
