Our home

Our home is a welcoming blend of modern and traditional. Originally built as a cottage in the 1920s, it was tastefully extended and renovated in 2009 and is now a bright, comfortable and contemporary home for our family of four (as well as our dog and two cats). It is set on a 1-acre site surrounded by rolling farmland, but with easy access to Limerick city and several nearby towns and villages.
The location is perfect for any family who is interested in discovering the real Ireland, while also having ready access to some of the most popular visitor destinations along the West Coast. The thriving city of Limerick is just 15km (20 mins) drive away, home to the world renowned University of Limerick, Munster Rugby and an exciting arts and culture scene.
This is an ideal location for those who love the outdoors, with countless hiking and cycling routes (the Galtee mountains are approx 20km away), tennis, swimming, sailing, kayaking, fishing and golf (four 18-hole golf courses within a 20km radius, including the world famous Adare Manor) among the many amenities nearby.
Nearby historic sites include Lough Derg, Killaloe, Lough Gur Neolithic settlement (, Bunratty Folk Park and King John’s Castle.
This is also the perfect base from which to explore the Wild Atlantic Way, with a number of beautiful beaches in Clare and Kerry within an hours’ drive.
Galway city too, home of the Galway Arts Festival, is just over an hours’ drive away.
Getting here is easy; Shannon Airport is less than 30 minutes from our front door while Dublin and Cork airports (2.5 and 1.5 hours, respectively) are also easily accessible via the motorway network.
