Our home

We live in a bright, modern 2 bedroom apartment (built 3 years ago). It has a very large living room, 2 good sized double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (1 ensuite) and a kitchen. Our balcony is south facing, overlooking a green area and receives morning to afternoon sun. We've been able to grow tomatoes, courgettes, chillies and herbs! The apartment is comfortably furnished and warm (with central heating and a gas fire). It is a secure second floor apartment with good neighbours and has all necessary appliances. It is essentially maintenance free!

Who we are

  1. I am a GP, Irish born and bred. My partner Conor is a graphic designer of Australian extraction. He grew up in Western Australia but has been living in Ireland for the past 8 years. We are both in our thirties and are hoping to work in Perth for a year or two with a possible aim of moving there for good. We would love to do a house swap for a year while we find our feet in Australia. Our plan is to leave Ireland in January 2008 and travel through South America for 2-3 months, arriving in Perth March/April 2008. We are both active, outdoorsy people and love to swim, ski, surf and hike. We promise to take as good care of your home as we do our own!

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our apartment is located in the leafy suburb of Castleknock, within walking distance of the Phoenix Park (the largest walled park in europe) and Casleknock Village. The lively village has numerous restaurants, pubs and shops and there are many local schools. We are also only 5km to the city centre, a cosmopolitan city with fine dining, a great cultural centre of Europe. Another huge advantage of our location is its proximity to Dublin airport where low fare airlines can whisk you to the four corners of Europe in an hour or two! The central location of dublin make excursions to the northern and southern counties very easy.

20 minutes can have you in the heart of the Dublin and Wicklow mountains and within half an hour you can be in the lovely coastal areas of Howth or Malahide. With a 15 minute walk you could be on a canal barge heading into the midlands.
