Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We live in a beautiful coastal location adjacent to the picturesque village of Barna. The village is totally self-contained with regard to all shopping and restaurant requirements e.g. supermarket, fish shop, health food store, chemist, pattiserie, laundrette, three restaurants and a boutique hotel. Barna is 8 kms / 10 minute drive West of Galway city and there is a regular bus route to the city centre. Galway is the third largest city in the country known as ‘Ireland’s Cultural Heart’ and ‘its Bi-lingual Capital’. It is renowned for its numerous festivals and events – Galway Food Festival (Easter), Galway Arts Festival (July); Film Festival(July); Horse Races(July/August); Oyster Festival(September); Childrens' Arts Festival (October)...

Our home is perfectly located at the gateway to scenic Connemara and is ideal for accessing many tourist attractions such as the Aran Islands, Kylemore Abbey, Connemara National Park, Burren National Park and the Cliffs of Moher.

There are also numerous local attractions within 5/10 minutes drive of our home: Barna Woods; Natural Bog/Coastal Walks; Rusheen Bay (kayaking and windsurfing school); Galway Atlantaquarium and Spiddal village/craft centre.

Our home is directly across the road from the Barna Golf course (one of Galway's many courses), not only perfect for keen golfers but providing beautiful views.

Shannon/Knock airports are an easy 1hour 30minute drive from our home.
Dublin airport is a comfortable 2hour drive.

We would consider a car swap if interested. We have a 7 seater and 5 seater available.
