Our home

Our home is a very comfortable bungalow with magnificent sea views overlooking Baltimore and the Islands. It is surrounded by a large garden and is very quiet. There are two double bedrooms, a bunk room and another small room that has a futon and can be used for sleeping. The living room is large and homely and has a very well equipped kitchen. We love cooking and entertaining friends here. This is a holiday home but is very much our home away from home.

Who we are

  1. We are an Irish couple in our early sixties. We live and work in Dublin. Dave is a Quantity Surveyor with his own practice and Mairead is a French teacher (semi-retired). We have two grown up sons, and two grandsons. We really enjoy travelling, good food and good wine. We have done house swaps in the past when our sons were little and we are looking forward to trying them again! I will endeavour to answer all emails and can reply in English, French or Italian.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

The house is situated about 1 kilometre from the small village of Baltimore where there are nice restaurants, very friendly pubs and some small shops. From here you can take ferries to Sherkin Island and Cape Clear. Sailing is very popular and it is possible to go whale watching, diving and fishing. Our closest big town is Skibbereen which has a nice golf course and many shops. Close by is the beautiful salt water lake Lough Ine where we love to canoe and swim (though the water is too cold for many!)
