Our home was completed in January 2010 and designed with family living and open spaces in mind. Almost 4000 ft spread over three floors; it features a double storey window overlooking Ben Nephin Mountain, an indoor tunnel slide, a jacuzzi, open plan kitchen and dining area, two large playrooms, a music room. There is something for everyone!
We are planning to relocate to Australia in the next two years. We are looking for a swap for for a period of 1 month minimum to explore the area and look at property, schools etc.
Our children range in age from 2 - 10, are well behaved and are very respectful of other peoples homes. We take great pride in our home and would treat yours with the same level of respect!
We live in a quiet cul de sac in the Quay area of the town. Our lane is directly opposite the river and the beautiful Belleek woods which can be seen from the upstairs windows. We are located about a mile from the town center but the village itself has a couple of shops, two bars and even a night club! We can arrange babysitting for you and you can enjoy a meal or a good night out at the 'Ice House Hotel' or 'Crockets' both of which are a few minutes walk along the river.
The town has a great night life, especially during the summer and during the Ballina Salmon Festival which takes place this year from the 10th - 17th July. There are several top notch restaurants, in particular the Mayo Restaurant at 5 star Mount Falcon Estate. For relaxed family dining, Market kitchen has a wonderful relaxed atmosphere and is very family friendly.
Our town is located at the mouth of the River Moy and is famous for its salmon fishing; Beat 1 at the Ridge Pool is possibly the most famous fishing beat in Ireland (or anywhere!) The Moy Fishery in Ballina is just 2.5 miles long has an average of 5,000 fish per annum! There are also several beautiful golf courses in the surrounding area and the possibilities for hiking, cycling, sailing etc. are endless.
Ballina is a great town for children also! We have parks, the woods for a cycle (we have several bikes and a trailer for your use), Enniscrone Beach, one of the safest and tidiest beaches along the west coast of Ireland boasts 5km of sandy beach and is less than a ten minute drive. There is an indoor playground, 'Tumble Jungle' which is one of the largest of its kind in Ireland. For day trips there are pet farms, coastal walks http://mayo.mykidstime.ie/ is a great website for activities in the area. If it’s a quiet day at home you’re looking for, our play room, pool table, air hockey table and indoor slide will provide hours of fun!
