Our home

Our family home is comfortable and inviting. Downstairs we have a front porch area with a relaxing sofa, this leads to the main hallway. Off of the hallway we have a living room which has a plasma tv and stove fire. Our kitchen is well equipped for cooking. Adjoining our kitchen is a dining room which seats 8 people and has glass doors going directly onto our deck area. Also adjoining the kitchen and dining area is another living/relaxing area and a seperate conservatory. Our deck area is quite large and has a large table and chairs which can seat up to ten people comfortably. We also have a high quality large gas BBQ for cooking, there are also two sun loungers for relaxing. We also have a downstairs bathroom and utility room. Upstairs we have three double bedrooms, the fourth bedroom is currently being used for a cot which we use for our grandchild. The master bedroom is en-suite and has a shower. There is also another bathroom upstairs which has a jacuzzi bath and seperate shower.
Outside the house there are beautiful views both at the front and rear of the house. Our gardens are well maintained and there is plenty of space for children to play safely. We have electric gates at the entrance to the house.

Who we are

  1. We are Myra and Ger, a married couple in our 50's. We have two grown up daughters and one grandchild. Our family may travel with us on some trips or we will travel as a couple. we would love to do an exchange to Portugal or Spain . We would also consider other offers to beach locations as we would like to be near the coast.

Your neighbourhood

Our house is located in the Mid West of Irleand, just outside the city of Limerick (12 miles). We live between the villages of Murroe in Co Limerick (4/5 minute drive) and Newport in Co Tipperary (4/5 minute drive). Our house is only 500m from the Clare Glens which is a beautiful wooded area with waterfalls. It consists of a picturesque walkway on each bank of the river boasting spectacular views, a nature trail is mapped out guiding you where to go. The Clare Glens form the boundry between Limerick and Tipperary. In Murroe Village you will find Glenstal Abbey which is a famous monastery and house of God, it operates a boarding school, a farm and guesthouse. The monastery and church are just beautiful and walking around there is recommended. In Murroe village you will also find a pitch and putt course, a playground, a church, shops and pubs where you can eat or taste our famous Guinness Stout. Limerick city has lots of attractions including tourist sites. Our city is famous for sport especially rugby. The munster rugby team are based in Limerick. We also have the largest University campus in Ireland called the 'University of Limerick' which has a large range of facilities including sports and recreation. The 'living bridge' which was recently constructed connects the old campus with the new campus which is being developed on the other side of the river. This is a nice area to go for a walk and you can also stop off and see the new boat house built on the water edge for the rowing crews in the university. Our home is positioned perfectly if you plan to explore other parts of Ireland. We are less than 1 hours drive to the beach (Lahinch) which has great surfing. The Cliffs of Moher, The Ring of Kerry, Galway and Cork, all of which are within 1 hour and 30 minutes from our house. Dublin (capital city of Ireland) is only two hours by motorway. The nearest airport is Shannon Airport which is located less than 30 minutes drive from our house.
