Our home

Our house is a modern semi detached house and is very comfortable. The house is 10 years old & is in a quiet residential area. It is a bright airy home and the gardens are fully enclosed and take advantage of its sunny aspect.
It has three double bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms, a separate dining room and sitting room and a well equipped kitchen. Our home is a lovely place to return too after a busy day sightseeing or to while away an afternoon reading or listening to music & I hope you may get to enjoy this pleasure as we do.Log onto a visitor service just launched called "city of a thousand welcomes" and get to meet up with an Irish resident and have a chat and a cup of tea about what you'd like to do and see while on your holidays.

Who we are

  1. My name is Mary and my husband is Sars. We are both over 55 and love to travel. I'm still working in the financial services area and my husband is retired and now that our youngest has moved out we go away as often as possible. I job share so am off every 2nd week. We are both very active and love travelling. We enjoy the whole house swapping concept. It is a real adventure each time we go away and experience someone else's home and area. We find we are going to places that we would not otherwise have visited and its great fun. We are also exposed to lots of new ways of doing thing and new sights and sounds. Our main interests are walking, swimming, reading, photography and cycling and these all fit in well with our travels. We will treasure your home and treat it with the greatest respect.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We live in a nice quiet area yet we are well serviced by shops, banks, libraries, public transport and churches. Both the buses and the trains are within easy reach & there's a very good service. Our house is only 3 miles from the City Centre so you are never too far from anything. We are very close to the sea-side (Clontarf) and St Anne's Park and both are lovely areas for walking. The City Centre with all its Museums, Art Galleries, shops and theatres is a lively and entertaining place. There is lots to see and do in Dublin. To finish off your day you could try a Pint of our famous Guinness in one of the colourful pubs or go along to a musical session and perhaps have a dance.

Two lovely places to visit if you have children with you are "Imaginosity" & Dublin "Zoo" and also visit www.dublinbikes.ie where you can hire bikes very reasonably. We regularly use the bikes ourselves and they are terrific. Irish Rail, which provides rail services throughout the country gives good value for senior citzens from overseas with a rail ticket available to travel anywhere on its network for a reasonable sum. Another enjoyable activity is walking and a great site for walks is "dublin tourism iwalks"," newdublintours.com", or try one of the apps "Dublin Storymap", which takes you on a walking tour from Trinity to the Museum of Modern Art with stories along the way or try the " Discover Ireland" app which has a GPS locator & will give you details of things on & open in your immediate area, just google it, its fabulous.
