Who we are

  1. My names is Fr Con Buckley. I am a priest in the Kerry diocese. I am a graduate of Oxford University where I spent 4 & a half years doing a doctoral thesis. I am taking a sabbatical year, Aug 2012 - July 2013. I am looking for a house in Oxford where I could do some further studies during that sabbatical year and so I would like to exchange my house in Ballduff, as described above, with one in Oxford. If possible I would prefer a house in the city of Oxford itself or close by so that I would be close to college libraries.

Your neighbourhood

The house overlooks the sea and Ballybunion strand, a seaside resort about five miles away by road. Kilmore strand a small quite beach is within walking distance, about a mile and a half away. It is a quite country area but there are some houses around. There are many recreational facilities in the area. Ballybunion has a famous golf course and there are also courses at Ballyhaigue (a seaside village about 8 miles away), Listowel and Tralee. The latter towns are about twelve miles away and Tralee in particular is a large town with cinemas, drama centres, an indoor water centre for swimming and so on. Banana strand is also in the area and has an indoor swimming and recreational centre. There are also fishing facilities all around. Especially in Fenit, a small fishing village and port near Tralee, which is famous for sea fishing. The house is about 14 miles from Tarbert car ferry which crosses the Shannon into Clare. Ballyduff, a small shopping town, is about a mile and a half away, and there is a large supermarket in Ballybunion.
