Our home

I have lovingly restored my stone cottage, which has taken me a few years and I'm really proud of it and hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Exposed stone fireplace, stone walls and stove are some nice features of my home and is the heart of the home during the winter. It also has underfloor heating for the winter. Open plan on ground floor means you can be cooking and chatting or better still you can be sipping on an irish coffee and be directing the chef. It is small and cosy with 2 double bedrooms and has a pull out couch so I have slept 6 in what is party situation.

Christmas 23dec till jan 9th 2012
Mid term 19 till 27th Feb
Easter 15th april till 3rd May (changes according to Easter)
Summer hols June, July and August

My boyfriend and I would love to discover our own country, so weekends away in rural and picturesque would be lovely also. We like hill walking and the great outdoors. City breaks in Ireland and Europe are also of interest to us. We like the "Belle Vie" rural and rustic a calm easygoing pace of life, but hey we're open to offers.

My friend and I would like to make a road trip in America, San Francisco, Aspen, Oregan are some ideas but we are open to make it an interesting trip. Staying a week in each house.

Who we are

  1. Hi all exchangers,
We are Sheila 45, Michael 44 and Patrick, sometimes we may also want to bring Michaels mother Betty who is a very fit 83 year old. My sister Ruth 47 might also be with us. It is great to have help babysitting when away on holidays. We love to go out for a meal but a two year old always wants to be on the move. We are a busy family with Airbnb businesses and farm and I also work part-time as a woodwork and technical drawing teacher. Every weekend we are working on restoring an old stone farm house and outbuildings so we need to set up weekends away so we get a break from working 24/7. Michael is also studying law and needs a place close to Phoenix park Dublin 1-8 March while he sits his black hall place enterance exams. A one bedroom apartment would be enough for him, a desk or kitchen table to study at.
    Regards Sheila

  2. Michael is a farmer/builder/Airbnb superhost and a law student.

  3. We love architecture, history,
I love dancing, set, swing, salsa, ballroom....
Michael loves a local pub with characters within walking distance of the house.
I love fine dining, organic and quirky cafes.

Patrick likes tractors, swimming and sand, animals. So petting farms, fota wildlife park, zoos, playgrounds etc

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

My house is in the heart of the country, on the award winning sheeps head penninsula walkways. It is idylic for outdoors hillwalking and restful get away. I have panoramic views of sea and rolling hills. Quiet country pubs with open fires and local characters supping on pints or singalongs. My neighbours and family are friendly and helpful and mostly farmers and fishermen. It's great for a romantic get away with good restaurants and local cafes within 5 to 15 mile radius. Lots of my friends visit me here and love it. There are nice drives with views to die for day trips to Killarney/Kenmare/Schull/Baltimore/Clonakilty and much more.
