Our home

Our 4-bedroom home is an atypical Paris apartment. It is the top two floors of a 3-story Paris townhouse. Built in a courtyard and overlooking a garden, it is very quiet and sunny. There is one bedroom downstairs and 3 upstairs which makes this an ideal family apartment. There are 2 bathrooms (off bedrooms) and a shower room, and 2 toilets. The living room has a skylight running the length of it and the kitchen is semi-open to the living room. Off two of the upstairs bedrooms is a terrace, which is marvelous for outside dining during the warm summer evenings.

Who we are

  1. My name is Ann (I'm American) and my husband is Philippe (French). We have 3 teenage children. I work in an international organisation and my husband works as a sales representative. We would like to exchange our apartment for a house in the San Francisco Bay area in August 2010. We would also be very interested in exchanging for an appartment in London or Spain during the school holidays. We could be open to offers anywhere!

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our neighborhood in the 13th arrondissement offers the best of old and new - it is host to the new National Library (an easy walk for researchers) and to the ultra-modern driverless Line 14 metro. But many parts still have the flavour of "Old Paris" and the livliness of the quartier populaire. By metro we are 7 minutes away from Chatelet, the heart of Paris, but with the metro and 3 bus lines we can get anywhere in the city quickly. We love our neighborhood; the Seine is just a short walk and the neighborhood is sbout equi-distant from the the Parc de Bercy and the Place D'Italie. Shopping is terrific - with a market street within 2 minutes and fabulous food merchants, and lots of cafés.
