Our home

This is a lovely apt. on the second floor of a four story building. It is in an old house which was previously located on a canal. The ceilings are tall and grand with old fashioned decorated moldings and medalions. The apt. has been updated with a modern kitchen and bathrooms. There is a master side and children/guest side. The dining room has a bright full window view of gardens and old buildings. The rooms are furnished with taste and comfort.

Who we are

  1. My husband, my 16 year old son and I have lived here in this lovely region of burgundy, for three years. We enjoy the many things there are to see and do. It's nice to walk through the vineyards which surround the small villages, such as Mercury, Givry or Rully. Sometimes we picnic or ride our bikes beside the canals. We watch the tourists watch us. I guess you could say that our hobbies are, good eating, drinking great wine and walking it all off!

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

The small city of Chalon is located on a river which is two blocks away. From the apartment you can tour the the old town, (much of it pedesterian only). In the center of the old town is a beautiful cathedral and old square, surrounded by tutor style buildings. Within this square are many cafes where one can eat or drink, enjoy the fresh air and scenery. There are many interesting shops and very good restaurants, and I do mean, very good! There are two city museums, one based on the history of photography, which was invented here in Chalon.

This area has several very interesting and well kept castles and chateaux for public viewing.

Vineyards and winetasting of France's best Bourgogne wine awaits in many directions just a short drive from the town.
