Our home

I bought my lovely apartment in Harju/Kallio few years ago. I have renovated it with light and bright colours, a bit by bit during this time. My living room is rather large with a dining for six. Kicthen and bedroom windows overlooks north a fenced back yard with couple of big trees, a sandbox and swings for children and benches for adults. In the summer time you can enjoy your refreshments in the small balcony facing south to the street. If you want to experience real finnish life style, there is a sauna in the building (2,50 ¤/hour).

Who we are

  1. I am single 44 year old woman. I work as system planner and it-assistant in Eira High School for Adults. It is the biggest "evening" school in Finland (we have tuition in the morning and day time too and about 2300 students registered). I am also studying in Helsinki University. My major is Theater Research. I have already completed my BA and at the moment I'm having a brake from the studies there fore I have time and energy to travel a little. When travelling I make day or two long trips to nearby cities and usually I don't spend too much time indoors. I often travel with a friend.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

You can reach the city center and for example the Central Railwaystation, museums and other activities by the metro, local busses or trams in 10-15 minutes. Public transportation is well organised and easily reached in Helsinki. It does not take more than 20 minutes to go downtown by walk eather. Nearby (5 min.) are also buss-stops for the airport and long distance busses. "The Central Park" is just aroud the corner if you like out doors. And to the luna park it takes only 5 minutes by walk. From Helsinki ports you can take a day trip to Tallin, Estonia. The fast ferries takes you there in two hours. You can also travel to Stocholm by ferry, where you can travel by night and sleep on a boat, then spend a day in Stocholm and sleep again on the way back by night. It is also possible to take (day)trips to other towns, like Turku which is the oldest town in Finland with an medieval castle etc.
