Our home

Our home is combined of two smaller apartments with a total of four rooms, a spacious kitchen plus two bathrooms, one with bathtub and small one with shower. It is on first/second floors in a 1923 built house. The house (called "Four Corners") is quite famous for its big inner court, which is nice and cosy especially in the summertime. Our apartment is really peacefully located with windows towards the courtyard and a small quiet street. There is a futon bed for two in the master bedroom + an extra futon mattress that can sleep a third person in the study room. We collect contemporary Finnish art and there are some interesting pieces on the walls :-) There is a big and very handy laundry room in the house (free of use) so we do not have a washing machine on our own.

Who we are

  1. I am an art director working in digital media (31), and my husband (39) works as a lawyer. We are into art, movies, concerts, biking, traveling, meeting friends & making new friends. He is very much into basketball, sauna, swimming and writing letters. I like architecture, cooking, yoga, and anything Japanese, among other things. In the recent years we have visited European cities and Japan.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Vallila area has an ideal location ? everything is close by: It's 20 minutes to city center (by tram or bike), 20 minutes to the airport (by bus) and 20 minutes to the wild nature (by bike). Connections to all over the city are very good. It is an old working class area built in 1920's with charming wooden houses and large blocks of flats with spacious inner courts. On a walking distance there is hip & bohemian Kallio area, with lively nightlife and two public saunas - a very special thing to do in Helsinki. From Helsinki it is possible to make trips for example to Stockholm, Tallinn, or St. Petersburg.
