Our home

We live in a house that was built for the 1940 Olympic games (which eventually took place in 1952) and our house is located in the area that is called the `Olympic Village`. The neighborhood is called Käpylä and it is known for its beautiful architecture and lovely green courtyards. There are also many cute wooden villas in the area. Our home is a ground floor two room apartment with 50 square meters, and it has an own entrance. Our apartment is in the inner courtyard of our building, so we also have a small yard in front of our apartment where we have some furniture and plants during the summer time. It is a great place to have your morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. We have lovely neighbors and people spend time in the inner courtyard playing with their children or drinking coffee with other neighbors. The Käpylä neighborhood is known for its spirit of community.

Käpylä is located about 20 minutes from the city center and the closest bus stop is only a few minutes’ walk away. You can also take the train from Pasila to all over Finland and there is a bus close by that goes to the lovely historical city of Porvoo. There are lots of nice services in the area, you can rent the Helsinki city bikes from several stops close to us, there is an outdoor pool about 1 km from our apartment, there are cafes and restaurants too.

Who we are

  1. We are a family of three humans and one dog.

  2. Antti works for a think tank and writes his dissertation. Nada is a civil servant but is now at home with our baby boy.

  3. Both of us have lived abroad when we were students, and we enjoy travelling around Europe. Changing homes would be an interesting way to travel.
