Our home

The apartment is located on one of the top floors of a silo that used to store malt for one of the oldest breweries in Denmark. The brewery buildings were converted into apartments in 1995. The silo construction actually consisted of 9 silos which means that all rooms in the apartment are somewhat round-shaped or has twisted angles. The kitchen opens up into the livingroom which both has a cosy cushion corner as well as a classic Danish Design sofa-arrangement. The balcony is small (and can be a bit windy) but we manage to grow herbs for cooking and we barbecue there as well ;-) The views of Copenhagen is spectacular all year round from all rooms in the appartment; watch the sunset over the Oresund bridge to Sweden in the morning, the airplanes taking off or landing in the airport and all the towers of the old buldings in the medieval city center.

Who we are

  1. Philip works with IT in the national traffic information center and Nicoline is a Ph.D. student at the Danish School of Education, working on a thesis on how to improve learning at conferences. We do our outmost to enjoy LIFE; we love to hang out with friends and we also like to take advantage of all the great things that Copenhagen has to offer. We are also curious about the world we live in and we have travelled extensively. We like to visit the other capitals of Europe and we looooove New York (yep, we are city people). However, sometimes you don't know what you want because you don't know that it exists - and so we are open to offers from all corners of the world :-) We are in our mid-thirties, no kids.

The apartment building has a beautiful garden with seating and barbecue areas. It is like a small piece of heaven, while the bustling city is just outside the doorstep. The apartment building is located in the outskirts of Vesterbro, one of the main city-areas of Copenhagen with heaps of bars, restaurants and shops. In any case, it only takes 10 minutes on a bike to go almost anywhere in Copenhagen - we are happy to lend you our two bikes. It is also easy to take the car to go on daytrips to other parts of Denmark (for example to see the castles of North Sealand, incl. Hamlets castle in Elsinore) or the south of Sweden. (We have an old version of a car, so we are interested in car swapping as well). Cph. is growing fast at the moment and whole new residential areas are emerging alongside with a new royal theatre, a new royal opera house etc., making Cph. a very interesting site if you are interested in architecture and design.
