Our home

We live in a modern town house from 2003. The house is 3,5 stories high - each floor being 40 m2, the top floor has a small loft. It's furnished with a mix of Danish and Scandinavian design, comfortable and practical solutions when living with children, books and records and an insane amount of LEGO.

Our home is situated in an area well away from traffic and noise. A small playground for the little ones is placed right in front of our terrace, and a huge playground for the bigger ones is only one street away. All our neighbours have children of various ages. They are all very friendly and will be able to assist you with practical matters about the house (as they live in similar houses).

The ground level has a kitchen with a large dinner table and with access to our terrace - making it easy to be dining outside and enjoying the light Scandinavian summer nights. The first floor has two bedrooms and a bathroom and the second floor has a master bedroom and a family room with a loft with a TV and a small couch.

Please notice that our house has a fairly steep staircase and is therefore not suitable for very young children, unless they are accustomed to stairs from home. We no longer have "parental controls" on the stairs.

Unfortunately our eldest son Julius is allergic to cats and dogs, so it is not possible for us to exchange with you if you have any of these pets.

Property features

Who we are

  1. We are a family of four: Rikke and Jesper (both 50) and our two sons, Julius (17) and Arthur (15). Rikke works in the City of Copenhagen, Jesper has his own add agency. In our spare time we have fun with the boys, e.g. go to our excellent zoo or the swimming bath. We cycle to Amager Beach Park or go to one of the many nearby playgrounds. Rikke runs at the beach park or at Holmen. We invite friends or family to come over for dinner and a board game. And Julius and Arthur play with the children next door while we chill out at our terrace or chat with their parents (all neighbours speak English).

We previously swapped homes with families with children in Barcelona, Amsterdam, small town near Brisbane, small town near Heidelberg, countryside near Lyon, downtown Vancouver and in Tarvisio (skiing). We have had wonderful times and we are ready for more exchange experiences.

Unfortunately Julius is allergic to cats and dogs, so it is not possible for us to exchange with you if you have any of these pets.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our home is located on Amager - close to both the beach and the city. There is a less than 10 minutes ride on cycle path to Amager Beach Park (1.6 km) and The National Aquarium Denmark "Den Blå Planet". The historical city centre of Copenhagen is 15 minutes away on bike or 10 minutes by metro (3.9 km). Shopping, playgrounds and cafés:€“ Everything is just on the doorstep as in any other capital city. The nearby metro and buses takes you to the famous architechtural sites, the zoo, Christiania, the exciting renewed harbour and all the fun at Tivoli within minutes.
