Our home

This chateau has been in our family since 1998 (when we renovated it) and for several years we ran it as a small luxury resort. During that time it has been visited by the Swedish King, used as a hunting base by a group of European nobles and was used as a set on two movies.
Some of the things we personally enjoy are the beautiful lake (full of carp), the quiet surrounding countryside and the beautiful 16th Century chapel in the courtyard.
Some of the additions that we made to the residence include a home cinema, sauna with a dipping pool, billiard room, gym, a light-therapy booth and a hydro-therapy bath. The kitchen is fully equipped to restaurant standards and there is a member of staff who oversees the house and comes around a few times a week.
There are twenty en-suite rooms that sleep thirty nine.
While it could be put down to the cheap Moravian wine that flows freely in the neighbouring towns, some previous guests have reported seeing ghostly apparitions around the castle.

Who we are

  1. We are a family of six (including a granny) living in Cambridgeshire, England. As it is not our primary residence, the property is available 90% of the time.
We have two dogs and a cat but they won't be joining us on our travels and we will treat your house as our own!

Your neighbourhood

There are plenty of restaurants specializing in traditional Czech fare in the nearby town of Pribram and 15km away there is a brewery and traditional restaurant.
After drinking the local beer and eating the local duck, you can carry on through the medieval town of Pribram which boasts several beautiful churches.
For the more James Bond oriented, there is an indoor shooting range in town.
The chateau itself lies adjoining a forest, lake and fields. There are bike rides available for forest jaunts and fishing can be arranged.
Starosedlsky Hradek is 75km from Prague.
